Tonkinese Cats |

Tonkinese cats are a mixture of Siamese and
Burmese cats. The original Tonkinese cat was called Wong Mau
and was imported into California in 1930 by Dr. Joseph Thompson.
Because of their muscular physique, Tonks are surprisingly heavy
despite their sleek appearance. They have long tails and and
elegant slender bodies. The color of the Tonks short, sleek
fur is called mink- natural mink is the most popular. The fur
only needs occasional brushing and you can incorporate this
into the stroking and attention giving that these cats so love.
The coats can be pointed or solid. The eyes of a Tonk are almond
shaped and come in a very unusual aqua eyes with some color
coats. In fact no other breed of cat has aqua eyes. Eyes can
also be blue or green and gold.
