Trimming your cats' fur is not generally advisable.
In fact never use scissors when grooming your cat and never
shave the fur unless it is absolutely necessary.
If you feel that it is necessary then make sure a vet (veterinarian
or veterinary surgeon) does it as the cat may need to be sedated
or put under a general anesthetic.
Also, do not comb a cat too vigorously as they will become
agitated and maybe violent and it will harm their skin and
damage their fur.
